HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE

Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center - Grand Rapids, Michigan

The Bouma Corporation is proud to have been involved in the Fred and Lena Meijer Heart Center project in Grand Rapids, Michigan in conjunction with Spectrum Health. This was a 300,000 square foot surgical and cardiovascular facilty, consisting of a 9-story, 164-bed heart center.

The first floor Grand Lobby consisted of radius bulkheads, Cambria hard tile, an Italian glass tile water feature, and two nuclear camera rooms. Six surgical suites with Spectrum Health’s logo inlaid in the sheet vinyl encompassed the second floor. The Bouma Corporation constructed the 24 private prep/recovery rooms on the third floor. There is also a wide open waiting area consisting of curved bulkheads and Amtico Flooring.

One of the main focal points of the building is a three-story healing garden in the center of the building framed mostly out of metal studs. S-shaped walls, think-line accoustical grid and multiple floor coverings were utilized on the eighth floor, which was built for education and communication. The Bouma Corporation feels honored to be a part of this state-of-the-art facility.
