Joe Klein
Project engineer

“The most rewarding part about walking away from a job well done is the appreciation others have for your work.”
Growing up in Northern Michigan, Joe was surrounded by construction—it was as much a part of the community as cherry farming. From helping neighbors repair storm damage to lending a hand on kitchen and bathroom remodels, he quickly learned the pride that comes from working with his hands and creating spaces others can enjoy.
After gaining six years of experience in residential flooring, Joe pursued a degree in Construction Management at Northern Michigan University. Through internships across the country and a rigorous academic program, he developed a broad perspective on the industry and the impact well-executed projects can have. Though he once considered opportunities in larger markets, Joe chose to remain in Northern Michigan, drawn by the same community that first inspired his career.
Now serving as a Project Engineer in Bouma’s Traverse City office, Joe plays an important role in planning, coordination, and project execution. He values the team-oriented culture at Bouma, where collaboration and trust drive results. For Joe, the greatest reward is contributing to projects that strengthen his community while working alongside a team that shares his commitment to excellence.
